Then it’s just a matter of letting it set and sealing everything with a top coat. But is polish alone enough to cover an entire nail with foil? Or should you use nail glue?
These are crucial questions because the answers can make or break your nail foil masterpiece. Let’s address the glue question first.
No, regular nail glue is not ideal for adhering foil. It dries too quickly so it’s hard to reposition pieces. You also run the risk of ending up with an uneven texture.
If you have a large area to cover with foil, use adhesive made for the purpose. Our nail foil gel only requires a thin layer of product, it allows you to move the foil, and it prevents peeling. However, you will need a nail lamp to cure it.
If you use an air-drying foil glue (like for foil on transfer paper), brush on a thin layer and allow it to start to turn from white to clear before pressing the foil into place. Repeat as needed.
